How do I search for products?

There are a number of different ways to search for products on www.groovybaby.co.nz

Keyword Search

Found in the sidebar of the home page. Simply enter the word(s) you wish to search on, push the 'submit' button and products featuring this word will be displayed. Tip: use singular rather than plural words for the best results.

Quick-search by brand

Click on one of the brand logos on the left hand side of the home page. This results in all products that we stock for that brand being displayed, in order of lowest priced to highest priced item.

Multi-Search facility

Groovy Baby! has made it easy for you to find the right item quickly. With our multi-search facility for refined browsing, you can select all, select just one or CTRL & select a combination of as many categories as you want. Here are a few tips to get the most out of your search:

Age

Helps you narrow down products which suit the age of your child, from birth to five years plus.
Tip: when searching any infant products category, choose "select all" for age.

Gender

Whilst we have no intention of stereotyping, some products (toys in particular) just seem to be more suitable for either boys or girls!

Price

We all know that having children means budget constraints!! With Groovy Baby!'s 'Price' search, simply enter the figure of the amount you would like to spend up to.

For example - if you want to spend up to $100.00 on a particular product, enter 100 in the box, and the search results will display every product under that price. This can be used in conjunction with all the other search filters as well.

Brand

Helpful if you have a preference for certain brands. There are two ways to search for brands:

  • Click on one of the brand logos on the left hand side of the home page. This results in all products that we stock for that brand being displayed;
  • Use the multi-search facility for refined searching.

Per Page Amount

Selects the number of products you wish to display at a time. Tip: For faster page loading choose the default of 10 per page.

Please note that the pictures displayed on this site are representative only - in some instances the colours and styles of the product may vary.

Can't find what you're looking for?

Ask us!! Our product range is increasing all the time - if we stock it, it may not have been included on the site at your time of visit. If we don't stock it, we may be able to get it in for you.


Where do I find your specials?

Each month we have specials on a whole range of items, and these are highlighted on our specials page. When you click on the product link this takes you to further information about the product, large photos and the opportunity to add to cart. Items on special are also listed when you search using the normal search facilities.

Items featuring in our regular monthly specials are normally available from 12am on the first day of the month until 9pm on the last day of the month or while stocks last.

When the opportunity arises we also have brand sales and category sales, ie an entire brand on special (eg all Little Tikes products) or an entire category of products (eg all highchairs).

Due to the popularity of our specials, we do not offer rainchecks. All specials are subject to all terms & conditions as outlined on this site.

Do your prices include delivery charges?
Do your prices include Goods and Services Tax (GST)?

All prices are displayed in New Zealand Dollars, include Goods & Services Tax (GST), and exclude freight charges. All prices are correct at time of publication, however we reserve the right to alter the price for any reason.

What methods of payment do you accept?

  • Credit Cards

    We accept Visa or Mastercard. This is the safest method of payment. Please note that if electing to pay by credit card YOUR ORDER WILL BE CHARGED AT THE TIME YOU SUBMIT THE FORM. This is because Groovy Baby! utilises a secure credit card processor, meaning your credit card details and payment go directly to Visa or Mastercard. Your order will be dispatched once Groovy Baby! has verified your credit card transaction has been approved.

  • Internet Banking/Direct Debit

    You can also deposit your payment directly to Groovy Baby!'s bank account.

Why was my credit card charged at the time I placed my order and not when my order was dispatched?

Groovy Baby takes online security very seriously, and for your safety we utilise the services of Direct Payment Solutions (DPS) to handle credit card payments.

Our ordering system is fully automated. When you press the "Confirm Order" button to submit your order, the credit card information that you have entered into our pages is encrypted by COMODO, and sent to DPS, who process your payment. Once your payment has been authorised by your credit card company (either VISA or Mastercard), DPS charge your credit card, and only then is your order is sent to us (if your payment is not authorised, then we do not receive an order). Staff of Groovy Baby Ltd therefore do not see or retain your credit card information.

Why does my American Express card not work on your site?

We currently only accept Visa or Mastercard credit cards. We do not accept American Express or Diners Club International. Paying by credit card is the safest method of payment. Please note that when paying by credit card YOUR ORDER WILL BE CHARGED AT THE TIME YOU SUBMIT THE ORDER FORM. This is because Groovy Baby! utilises a secure credit card processor, meaning your credit card details and payment go directly to Visa or Mastercard. Staff of Groovy Baby Ltd therefore do not see or retain your credit card details.

How secure is this website?

www.groovybaby.co.nz utilises COMODO Secure Socket Layer Web Server Encryption - in layman's terms this basically means that any information sent to us is encrypted or scrambled between your PC and our servers, meaning other computers are unable to make sense of it. This makes your information impossible to intercept or steal.

You may wish to view our authenticity certification. Whenever you see the red COMODO logo at the bottom right of any page, click on this to display our credentials. The certificate shows:

  • The domain for which the certificate was issued - showing you our host's domain information;
  • The owner of the certificate - showing you who we are hosted by;
  • The physical location of the owner - showing you where (physical location) we are;
  • The validity dates of the certificate - demonstrating that the certificate itself is current and genuine.

If for some reason the COMODO logo is not displaying on your computer, a little padlock icon will also display in the status bar at the bottom of your web browser window any time you enter one of our secure pages. Click on this for the same credential information.

What if the products I ordered are out of stock?

While we make every effort not to be out of stock, occasionally we may run out of popular items. Orders are not binding upon Groovy Baby! until availability of the product(s) has been confirmed. If we are out of stock on an item that you've ordered we'll e-mail you within 1 working day to let you know when it will be available. You may choose to wait until the item is in, or cancel your order, in which case your credit card transaction will be reversed. Please note - credit card reversals can take up to 3 days to process after we submit it to your credit card company. This unfortunately is outside of our control.

What are your delivery charges?

Groovy Baby! is able to courier your purchases to anywhere in New Zealand. Courier charges are based on per order, NOT per product. Courier charges will depend on the size of the product(s) purchased and where it is being sent.

Delivery Charges:

  • North/South Island: NZ$6.00

These charges apply to all products less than 10kg and under 0.167m3. Should your purchase be above this we will email you with a specific quote.


Do you deliver overseas?

Groovy Baby! is located in Wellington, New Zealand. We are also able to deliver some items overseas, if you would like a quote on international delivery, please contact us at info@groovybaby.co.nz.


When can I expect to receive my order?

After placing your order you should expect to receive an email stating that your order is processing. This means we are doing administrative stuff and packing your order. If there is a delay with your item(s) we will email you to let you know when you can expect them.

Once your order has been dispatched you will receive an email to that effect also. You should normally expect to receive your purchase within seven working days of placing your order.

If you have not received your purchase after seven working days have passed since you placed your order, and you have not heard otherwise from us, please email orders@groovybaby.co.nz immediately. Where possible, please include your order number and date of purchase.


How do I set up a gift registry?

If you are a new customer, click here to create your account with some basic information & where your order confirmations will be sent. If you are already a customer please log in before you can setup your registry.

Firstly, click on the "Add Registry" link. Fill in the first & last Co-Registrant name (eg, your partner, husband, etc), the "Occasion Date", and choose the type of occasion from the drop-down box. The click the "Continue" button. You will see your name listed on the Registry page. (Click on your registry name if you need to edit anything.)

To the right of your registry name you will see the text link under the "Registry Mode" column. Click this link to put you into "registry mode" and you will see a link at the top that says "You are in registry mode ... Click here to leave the registry mode". This "registry mode" allows you, the registry owner, to put items into your registry.

Browse our store for products you wish to add to your registry. You should see a yellow banner accross the top of the page stating "you are in registry mode". When you click on a product you will see an "Add to Registry" button & a box next to it for the quantity of that product you would like bought for you. You can set the quantity here or you can change it later. After you have added your product to the registry you can continue shopping untill all your products are added.

If you would like to purchase from the store as a regular customer (i.e. not for your gift registry) just click the link in the yellow bar at the top that says "You are in registry mode ... Click here to leave the registry mode". The yellow bar will disappear and you can shop in normal mode.

Finally, tell your friends and family about your new gift registry.


How do I make a purchase from a friend's gift registry?

If you do not have a link sent to you by your friend, then you'll need to find their registry. To do this, click on the 'registry' spinning flower at the top of any store page, which will take you to a 'registry search' page. Enter the first & last name of the registry owner in the "search registry" box and choose the event (you need to know the event your friend is having).

You will then be taken to a page with a list of registry 'owners'. Choose the registry owner you will be purchasing from by clicking on their name. This will take you to your friend's registry, which will have a listing of all the products your friend has chosen for purchase and the quantity requiried of each one.

Qty. is the total quantity of a product that you would like to purchase. Qty. Req'd is the total quantity of each product that is available to purchase. Qty. Rec'd is the total of that particular product that has already been sold.

To purchase an item for your friend, check the box under the "Check to Purchase" column of the product you are interested in. Put the quantity of the product you want to purchase if it is more than one. Click the "move to cart" button.

The next page gives you an opportunity to either remove the product or change the quantity before checking out. Proceed with checkout - delivery charges will be added during checkout. After you have checked out you will receive a confirmation email. Click on the link in the confirmation email to see your order.


Do you have layby facilities?

Groovy Baby! are proud to offer an exclusive and unique service, our online layby system. This system lets you select the products you want and then select the timeframe you wish to pay them off over.

The system is great for special occasions, such as Christmas, since you can spread large payments over a more manageable time scale without needing to resort to using expensive credit facilities.

There's no minimum order and there's no extra charge for using our Layby system, it's just another way that Groovy Baby! can help you get what you want.

And better still - it's managed totally online, by you, the customer - at a glance you can see how much is owed and when it is owed by.


What do I need to know before placing a layby order?

The following terms and conditions apply to our online layby facilities:

  • Available for New Zealand addresses only.
  • Payment is by Credit Card or Direct Banking. We accept VISA and Mastercard only.
  • A minimum of 20% of the total order amount is required as a deposit.
  • A Delivery Charge is automatically added to the outstanding amount.
  • You have the ability to layby multiple items , however goods are not shipped until full payment is received for all items.
  • You may view all your layby details by signing in to our MY ACCOUNT feature. You have the option to pay, finalise or cancel your layby online.
  • Subsequent instalment payments may be of any amount as long as the full amount is paid within the timeframe you specify (maximum 3 months). We accept credit card and Direct Bank Transfers for subsequent instalment payments.
  • You have the option to finalise your layby before final payment date. We endeavour to ship your order within 48 hours after the outstanding balance has been paid in full.
  • You may cancel your layby at any time, however you agree to forfeit a minimum of 20% deposit as a cancellation charge. Other charges may apply, and we suggest you contact us prior to cancelling for an accurate cancellation fee.
  • We reserve the right to cancel any layby not paid for by the date the final payment is due. Any refunds (less the minimum 20% cancellation charge and any other applicable charges) due to you will be processed and refunded to applicable credit card within 5 working days.
  • Layby's are in accordance with the Layby Sales Act 1971 - more information can be found here: http://www.consumeraffairs.govt.nz/consumerinfo/layby.html
  • In addition to the above "Layby terms and conditions", layby's are also subject to all other terms and conditions of usage of our site.

How do I use the Online Layby System?

In order to use our online layby system, you need to have registered for a free account and be signed in. To register for a free account, please click the Account button.

Making a layby purchase Once signed in, simply place an order. Once you get to the payment stage, you will have the option of placing your purchase(s) on layby.

Making a payment Sign in to your account, and choose "View my layby orders" link in the "My Orders" box. There you can view your layby details and payment status. To make a payment, click the "make payment link" and follow the instructions.


I have Groovy Baby! gift vouchers - how do I redeem them to purchase goods from your site?

Groovy Baby gift vouchers are redeemable on any product for sale on our site at face value. Vouchers have a one year time limit and they have to have been validated by the new owners if issued before 01/01/09.

To redeem your gift vouchers, go through checkout as you would normally, however in the notes field let us know that you have vouchers, and to what value. Then submit your order. Please note that your credit card will be charged at that point, for the full value of your purchase. Print out a copy of your order, and send this and the vouchers to us at P O Box 27 546, Wellington.

Upon receipt of the vouchers we will subtract the value of the vouchers off the total and reverse your credit card transaction that amount.

Please Note: Groovy Baby! Gift Vouchers ('vouchers') are redeemable on any product for sale on our site at face value. Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash or be credited to a bank account. How do I claim my 10% Multiple Birth Club discount?

Groovy Baby! offers a 10% discount on all orders for members of Multiple Birth clubs. To qualify for the Multiple Birth Club Discount, you must enter your club name and membership number with your order in the notes field, and once we have confirmed this (usually within 48 hours), we will make a refund to your credit card of the 10% discount.


REFUNDS & RETURNS POLICY

What happens if my goods are damaged in transit?

If your order is delivered and is either broken or faulty, please contact us at orders@groovybaby.co.nz. Any problems should be notified within 48 hours of delivery. Any transit breakage will be replaced or credited. Replacements are subject to stock availability. Any item returned must be in an original, unused condition, with the original packaging and must be returned within 7 days of delivery. Remember to include your details

'Order' includes outright purchases, laybys and purchases made through gift registry. Subject to the "Layby" paragraph below, orders are payable by credit card and direct debit only. Orders are not binding upon GB! until availability of the product has been confirmed. You should normally expect to receive your order within seven working days of placing your order. If there is a delay with your item(s) you will be contacted by GB! and advised of an alternative timeframe. Should this timeframe not be acceptable to you, you may choose to cancel the order. You agree to contact GB! immediately in the event that your order is not received within seven working days. GB! will endeavour to trace the order, and in the event the order cannot be traced the order will be replaced where possible or refunded. You agree to contact GB! within 48 hours of receipt of product in the event that the product is either broken or faulty. Any transit breakage will be replaced where possible or refunded. Any item returned must be in an original, unused condition, with the original packaging and must be returned within 7 days of contact with GB!. Any product replacements are subject to stock availability. Any refunds will be processed within 72 hours of cancellation of order. GB! do not refund or exchange items if you "change your mind" or do not like what you have purchased. This paragraph does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

Layby

Layby is available for New Zealand addresses only. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in these terms and conditions, payment of laybys is by credit card only. A minimum of 20% of the total order amount is required as a deposit and a delivery charge is automatically added to the outstanding amount. You have the ability to layby multiple items , however goods are not shipped until full payment is received for all items. Subsequent instalment payments may be of any amount provided the full amount is paid within the timeframe specified by you when placing your layby order. Any layby order shall not exceed a maximum of 3 months payment time. Subsequent instalment payments are payable by credit card only. You have the option to finalise your layby before final payment date. Your order will under normal circumstances be despatched within 48 hours after the outstanding balance has been paid in full. Should you cancel your layby, you agree to forfeit a minimum of 20% deposit as a cancellation charge. Other cancellation charges may apply. GB! reserve the right to cancel any layby not paid for by the date the final payment is due. Any refunds (less the minimum 20% cancellation charge and any other applicable charges) will be processed and refunded to an applicable credit card within 72 hours of cancellation. All layby orders placed are pursuant to the Layby Sales Act 1971.

Gift Vouchers

Groovy Baby! Gift Vouchers ('vouchers') are redeemable on any product for sale on our site at face value. Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash or be credited to a bank account. Vouchers have no value until validated by GB!. Vouchers have no time limit and are valid indefinitely until redeemed. Vouchers have no value once redeemed. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in these terms and conditions, vouchers may not be redeemed in a layby purchase.

Changes

GB! reserves the right to make additions, deletions or modifications to the site and services offered at any time without prior notice.

Jurisdiction and Venue

You agree that any legal action brought against GB! shall be governed by the laws of New Zealand without regard to its conflict of law principles. You agree that the sole jurisdiction and venue for any litigation arising from your use of or orders made on this site shall be an appropriate Court located in Auckland, New Zealand.

E-mailing list

We collect your name and e-mail address solely for the purpose of newsletters and self-promotion of our site and service. We do not trade or sell our mailing list to any other business at all.

IP Addresses

We may use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our Site. Your IP address may also be used on occassion to help identify you and to gather broad demographic information.

Other
